8 Best Pool Inflatables
Here are my top pool inflatables:
1. The Popular – Unicorn Float
Do you ever wonder why one of these always shows up at pool parties?
It’s because everyone loves floating unicorns. They’re not quite as magical as real unicorns. But one can always dream.
Bring one of these, people will be scrambling to take turns.
But be careful when buying one!
These inflatables are so popular, there are dozens of cheapos for sale.
Unicorn inflatables that, once you get on top, will explode under the pressure.
That’s why I recommend GoFloats’ Unicorn Float.
At 45 inches tall and 3 feet tall, anyone can get on comfortably.
And it’s strong.
Made from premium UV treated vinyl, this unicorn float is so strong – it can carry up to 500lbs!
Should you ever find damages, GoFloats also makes it easy for you to get a replacement.
So don’t settle for cheap plastic floats that won’t last. GoFloat’s Unicorn Float will be with you for summers to come!
Pros | Cons |
Sparks the imagination | Center hole may be too big for small kids |
High-quality material
Big enough for anyone | |
Can carry up to 500 lbs. |
Not fond of unicorns? Check out GoFloats’ Flamingo, Parrot, Shark, Elephant, or Dog floats for affordable, high-quality animal floats.
2. The Exciting – Squirting Fireboat
Floating around is fun, sure… but have you ever tried floating around while shooting water at people?
Now that’s what I call exciting.
Get one of these squirting fireboats and your kids will have endless fun. They’ll never get bored of hitting target after target, claiming victim after victim.
And it’s not only for kids either.
The Fireboat Squirter by Swimline can support up to 200 lbs – that’s enough for the average man. Plus, it’s made from heavy gauge PVC, so it’s not easy to destroy.
And I haven’t got to the best part yet.
These Fireboat Squirters come with self-filling water guns.
As you swim around, the gun attached to the boat fills up with “ammo”. It lets you shoot round after round of water without ever having to reload.
So sound the alarms! Your kids have “fires” to put out.
Pros | Cons |
Sparks the imagination | Can only carry 200 lbs. |
Enough space for 2-3 kids
High-quality material
Comes with a self-filling water gun |
3. The Chill – Floating Island
Let’s say you’re not looking to get all playful at the pool. Instead, you want to have a chill float around while sipping drinks with friends.
You’re looking for a floating island.
When it comes to these, there are few that are as good as the Intex Inflatable Island.
It’s not an actual island of course. Rather, it’s an inflatable lounge complete with seats, mesh flooring, a built-in cooler, and cup-holders.
Big enough to fit 5 adults, you can have a relaxing chat as you float around. The mesh flooring lets you dip your feet to stay cool. Plus, the built-in cooler and cup-holders make your “trip” quite luxurious.
It may be tall, but getting on is super easy thanks to the grab handles on the sides of the float. Even kids won’t have a hard time climbing in.
Whether you’re with your family, friends, or even complete strangers, this inflatable island is perfect for bonding time.
Pros | Cons |
Comfortable seats | May take up too much space in pools |
Mesh flooring for foot dipping
Built-in cooler and cup-holders for drinks
Grab handles make it easy to get on |
4. The Crazy – Banana Float
Have you ever seen something so absurd, you couldn’t stop laughing?
Well, that’s exactly what a banana float will do for your pool party.
This isn’t one of your ordinary floats which, while they’re all fun and colorful, are tame. Throw a banana float on the pool, you’ll hear howls of laughter.
Don’t be surprised to see everyone – from children to teens, to adults, to elders – having a go at it… then falling right over.
Why miss out on the fun? Try getting on the banana float yourself!
You’ll find yourself rocking back and forth like a madman trying to balance on a huge yellow banana. Trust me… it looks as crazy as it sounds.
And if you steady yourself? Congratulations! You’ve conquered the wild banana!
It is a truly hilarious addition to your pool party.
So don’t settle for a cheap one that’ll deflate the mood as it loses air. Get yourself a high-quality Greenco Ride-On Banana.
Made from durable PVC vinyl material, this banana won’t let you down. Plus, it comes with its own repair kit. On the rare occasion that something goes wrong, you can patch it up and throw it right back in.
The party never stops with the wild banana, so grab yours for a crazy experience.
Pros | Cons |
Crazy toy will get everyone laughing | Caution required (NOT a flotation device) |
Challenging to get on | |
Made from durable PVC vinyl
Grab handles make it “easy” to hold on |
5. The Weird – Floating Mat
Want a BIG surprise at the party?
Stash out an Intex Giant Inflatable Floating Mat.
It’s huge…
…it’s weird…
…and it’s hella fun!
This isn’t your usual floatable – a lot of people have never heard of these. But take it to your party, and before you know it, everyone will be trying to get on board!
It’s super buoyant. With its double-layered air chambers, you can lie down comfortably right at the water level.
Measuring 114 by 84 inches, there’s more than enough room for 3 adults. But be careful. Put too many people on top, it’ll begin sink. You’ll also have a hard time standing up.
But this doesn’t stop you from bringing the whole squad along. With its 4 N-connectors, you can easily connect to other floatables. This way, you can all float together.
Made from 20ga vinyl, it’s soft, comfortable, and also quite durable. Its design also eliminates any worries of punctures or deflation.
You can even bring your dog along! Their nails aren’t sharp enough to damage the thick vinyl of this floating mat.
Finally, once it’s time to pack up, you can shrink and fold this huge mat into a small box. Talk about convenience.
Pros | Cons |
Surprising addition to your pool parties | Difficult to stand up |
Super big | |
Super buoyant | |
Pet-friendly |
6. The Luxurious – Inflatable Yacht
There’s nothing more luxurious than a yacht. Unfortunately, they’re so expensive, not all of us can afford one.
What you can afford though is an inflatable yacht.
Like the real thing, inflatable yachts were made for luxury. Think sunbathing on the water with champagne in your hands.
A good inflatable yacht, such as Funboy’s Giant Luxury Inflatable Yacht will turn your pool party into a lush experience. With its elegant design and comfortable headrest, you can float around in style.
Want a drink? Funboy’s yacht comes with a reinforced cooler and cup holders. This way, you can take sips as you float around.
This inflatable yacht uses thick vinyl, so it’s both strong and durable. At 9 feet long, it’s big enough for two people to lay side by side.
Funboy also partners with RainCatcher for a give-back program. For every inflatable yacht purchase, a year’s supply of clean drinking water is provided to someone in a developing country. It’s always nice to help out while buying something for yourself… isn’t it?
Pros | Cons |
Luxurious float | Quite expensive |
Instagram-worthy | |
Comes with cooler and cup-holders
Give-back program provides clean water to developing countries |
7. The Electric – Motorized Pool Lounger
When you think of pool inflatables, you don’t always think of motorized boats. Most of us think motors are for big inflatable boats that you take to the lake or beach.
However, Poolcandy is here to change that.
With their Splash Runner, you’ll never think of motorized inflatables in the same way again.
At first glance, it looks just like any other inflatable chair (which is already great). But when you flick the controls on the arm of your “chair”, it’ll propel you forward!
And not only forward – the Splash Runner can also move in any direction. Its dual motors, which can run up to 3 mph, let you do this. They’re super easy to control and can get you to any corner of the pool in no time.
For power, the 66w motors need 6 d-cell batteries each. These provide it enough power to run for 15-20 uses.
Built from heavy-duty PVC vinyl, this lounge can carry up to 300 lbs. And should anything go wrong, you can have any part replaced with Poolcandy’s 1-year warranty.
To make things even better, there’s a built-in cup holder for all your drinks. Talk about relaxing, this lounger will make your day at the pool completely effortless.
Pros | Cons |
Motor propels you at 3mph in any direction | Doesn’t come with batteries |
Super comfortable | |
Built from heavy-duty PVC vinyl
1-year part replacement warranty |
8. The Classic – Inflatable Boat
Last but certainly not least – a good old inflatable boat.
No, not those big, sea-faring fishing boats. Those won’t fit in a pool.
But rather, the Intex Explorer 100.
We’ve had a look at a lot of gimmicky boats and floats so far. This one is the exception. It’s a small but fully-functional standard dinghy.
Despite its size, the Intex Explorer 100 has everything you need from an inflatable boat. In fact, it’s part of my top 10 inflatable boats.
What makes this boat so special?
For one, it has a very solid and rigid floor (at least for pool boats). This is thanks to its 2-chamber design, where the floor and sides are inflated separately.
This provides you with extra safety. Should one chamber fail, the other chamber will keep the boat afloat. Sinking boats in pools aren’t too dangerous, but it’s always good to be safe.
A few other features make this boat special. It has welded-in oar holders, making rowing around a lot easier. It also features a grab rope on the bow, allowing you to pull it around the pool.
All in all, this is a great boat for rowing around the pool. You can also use it for calm ponds and lakes. Just avoid moving water! This boat is so lightweight, any current can carry it away.
Pros | Cons |
Fully-functional inflatable boat | Can only carry 120lbs |
2-chamber design | |
Has oar holders and a grab rope
Can be used in calm ponds and lakes |
